the year of much more for OV?
The vision of 2026 has been released - and as the title says, the Year of Much More.
Much more in all aspects as Pastor Prince preached: wisdom, health, wealth.. whatever that is needed for us to live out the purpose and calling God has ordained.
Now, what struck me most wasn’t the weight and power of the vision. It was the verses shared, especially from 2 Chronicles 20, from “our eyes are on You (God)” to “do not be afraid or dismayed”.
I know I don’t talk about it enough and I should.. but between balancing my day job and coaching stint, I was giving whatever I had left to this passion project called Of Valor. Hence, I am very aware that it is not getting the focus it should that will allow me to reach out to more people.
That shall change come this year. The year of Much More. But first, I wanted to delve a little bit into how Of Valor came about. I know it is in trend to share all these via a “reel”, but I wanted to write because writing will always be my first love. I admit it has definitely been watered down and taken a backseat with the progression of life and circumstances, but here I am.
So let’s backtrack - it all started in Dec 2024, when my friends and I were on a trip to Iceland. Staring out into the plains while on a bus tour, I had a lot of time and headspace for God to pour out on me.
I know that I’ve always wanted 3 main things in my life:
A creative outlet of my own where I can design & write without the need for approval
A platform where I can reach both the secular and Christian world
A space to empower individuals (especially women) and encourage to be bold in all things
So as I was staring into ice-capped mountains, browning flora and non-existent fauna, the Spirit dropped the word “Valor”. Now, I know we are based in Singapore and we adopt the UK spelling of words, so you would think “valour” would have been it. But no, it was “Valor”; that was how specific God was.
I pulled out my phone and started word-dumping and allowing ideas to flow (I have an entire note dedicated to my verbiage). I started thinking of how I can properly encourage valor to be a part of someone’s armor. Why “properly”? Well, this wasn’t a new desire or passion of mine, I’ve always set out to do this - through my jobs and interaction with people. Once, I created an Instagram account called Bold Studios.
I researched more into the meaning of valor and how it exists within the Bible - and wow, that entire process deserves another entry of its own. That study alone truly cemented the goal of launching Of Valor. One other verse/message that kept coming up was how there is life and power in our tongue, and we should use it wisely. This is now one of the main messages of the brand.
Anyway, upon my return to Singapore, I went right into starting this project, learning every step of the way. You know how we always say God’s timing is the best? Truly, without spending years in various roles, I wouldn’t have possessed the skills needed to kick-start this as fast as I could.
And here’s Of Valor, one year on, imperfect but still doing what she can to provide words of affirmation through various means.
Coming back to the point on the verses shared during Vision Sunday - almost every other verse that appeared on the screen were verses I have been putting into cards and posters. It immediately confirmed that the stirring of my Spirit for the past year and has now reignited my passion to keep driving what I want to do with Of Valor.
I did not start Of Valor as a jewellery brand, contrary to what people think. It seems that way given the amount of jewellery pieces I put out, but I’ve also always tried to put out just as many cards and posters. I really just want people to find (inexpensive) things they can indulge in and feel encouraged, blessed and empowered.
I am more than excited to see how God works to bring Of Valor to more people in 2026. Fine, I am beyond excited - how can I not? It brings me great joy seeing people experience the power of knowing who they are made to be; them realising they are more than the 1 or 2 hats they wear. There is true purpose that lies in their gifts; skills that come so naturally to them.
So there, I am ready for much more this year. Stay tuned for more of what’s to come. Always happy to connect, so please feel free to do so wherever you think you can find me.
Love,
Vanessa
